METHOD FOR ERASING OR REDUCING COLOR WITH AZO DYESTUFF AND AGENT FOR ERASING OR REDUCING COLOR WITH AZO DYESTUFF

PURPOSE:To erase or reduce the subject color by bringing a treating target containing an azo dyestuff into contact with a microorganism belonging to the genus Bacillus, Xanthomonas or Achromobacter and having an ability to utilize and decompose the azo dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:A treating target containing an azo dyestuff is brought into contact with the cells of one or more kinds of microorganisms selected from a microorganism belonging to the genus Bacillus [e.g. Bacillus OY-2 (FERM P-13118)], a microorganism belonging to the genus Xanthomonas [e.g. Xanthomonas NR 25-2 (FERM P-13119)], and a microorganism belonging to the genus Achromobacter [e.g. Achromobacter PR 41-1 (FERM P-13120)] to efficiently erase or reduce the color of the target with the azo dyestuff without causing a secondary pollution.
