In a convertible seat installation in or for coaches the backrests (7) may be pivoted to an upper bed position, while a lower bed row is arranged at seat level. The backrests are pivoted about respective transverse axles (16) projecting from the upper ends of associated side posts (8), and in order to provide for easy conversion the backrests are arranged so as to be carried and stabilized solely by their connection with the side posts, the connection being of the snap lock type. In avoiding auxiliary support means as otherwise used, an easy access to the lower bed row is achieved, as the entrance is limited only by the posts themselves. |
