<p>The apparatus comprises a cylinder (12) housing a rotary scroll (14). Tubular preforms (2) are fed into the cylinder (12) in an upright state and displaced along the cylinder by a fin (16) of the scroll. A spring (24) mounted on the fin (16) engages each preform (2) in turn and inverts it. The inverted preforms are then driven over a series of nozzles (30-36) discharging ionised gas to purge the preforms of debris. The preforms are then discharged.</p> |
