The arrangement includes a sheath (4) which surrounds the body of a monocular CRT display system (2) except for a wide-field optical system (3) which attaches the CRT screen to a combiner (40) which forms the eyepiece. A longitudinal edge (6) projects beyond and serves as a guide for hooking. A plate (5) between the sidewall of the helmet (1) and the sheath has a groove (8) into which the edge is inserted and a hook (9) engages with a stud.
