PURPOSE:To provide a highly safe battery with high capacity at low cost in a good yield by forming a battery electrode into a rectangular form, setting the area of an electrolytic layer equal to the positive electrode area or more, and representing the negative electrode area by the lengths of two sides of the positive electrode and a specified.relational expression. CONSTITUTION:A composite positive electrode 2 obtained by mixing manganese dioxide with an organic compound mainly consisting of diacrylate of ethylene dioxide is casted onto a positive electrode current collector 1 consisting of stainless foil, and hardened thereon. On the other hand, a lithium metal 4 is pressure welded onto a negative electrode current collector 5 consisting of stainless foil, and an organic solid electrolytic layer 3 consisting of the above organic compound is formed and hardened thereon. The both are put one over another, and the sealing part is thermally fused by a sealing material 6 such as modified polyethylene to form a thin battery. When the length of each side of the positive electrode is X, Y, the area S of the lithium metal or lithium alloy of the negative electrode is represented by S=(X-a)X(Y-a), wherein (a) is 0.5-5mm. |
