<p>A device for evaporating a liquid, including at least one porous substrate (7a, 7b) exposed to a predetermined ambient pressure, a member (34) for supplying liquid to the substrate and loading it with same by circulating said liquid through the substrate from an upstream portion, and at least one energy source (19) for heating the substrate so that at least a part of the liquid is evaporated therefrom. Said member for supplying liquid to the substrate includes means (C1, C2) for pressurising the liquid to a pressure above ambient pressure to achieve a flow rate higher than the flow rate solely due to the capillary action and evaporation of the liquid, assuming said substrate is then in a horizontal position. The device is useful for making water evaporation apparatuses, particularly those with an electrical or gaseous energy source.</p> |
