Plastic film useful for dental casting of teeth and jaw structures

A plastic film (3) for a dental casting process is made of an extensible, plastically deformable polymer and is cut before use into the size and shape of a dental casting ladle (1). A use for the film (3) is claimed as a position marker layer in dental casting.Also claimed is a casting process in which: (a) the film (3) is cut to the correct size,(b) placed in the ladle (1) on top of the casting material (2), (c) the tooth (4) is inserted to shape the casting material (2), and after the latter hardens, (d) the tooth (4) and film (3) are removed.
