摘要 PURPOSE:To control a humidifying state of gas supplied to each gas diffusion electrode according to the surface of each gas diffusion electrode and a wetting state of a solid polymer electrolyte film. CONSTITUTION:On an anode 2 side of a fuel cell, one end of a platinum wire 7 is held in the position not coming contact with the anode 2 but so as to come in contact with a solid polymer electrode film 1. The contact part 10 becomes an anode 22 of the reference electrode, and the platinum wire 7 comes in contact with hydrogen gas serving as fuel gas. The other end of the platinum wire 7 is connected to separators 4 on the anode 2 side and a cathode 3 side, and the separators 4 becomes cathodes 14a, 14b. Voltage V3 across the anode side and the cathode side is measured, and impedance of the polymer electrolyte film 1, the anode 2, and the cathode 3 is also measured. By combining the values of voltage V1, V2, V3 with the values of impedance, a wetting state of the solid polymer electrolyte film 1 can be detected.
