The method comprises winding the first part of the product onto a first primary drum (4) and winding a second part of the product onto a second primary drum (10) joined to the first. The first and/or the second part of the product, before winding onto the first or second primary drum, is first of all wound onto an intermediate drum (2). The intermediate drum, when winding on or winding off, is pref. joined to the first or second drum.
