The N-substd. carbonyl -5-hydroxy anthranilic acid derivative of formula (I) or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt is prepared. In(I), R1 is H of alkyl; R2 is p-hydroxy phenyl, 5-methyl-3-phenyl isoxazolyl or 1-phenoxy ethyl. Spec. N-p-hydroxy benzoyl-5-hydroxy anthranilic acid ethyl ester is prepared by dissolving 1g N-p-acetoxy bentoyl-5-tosyloxy anthranilic acid ethyl ester into 30ml ethanol, adding 10ml 0.5% NaOH/C2H5OH to the soln., reacting the mixt. at the room temp., neutralizing the reactant with 5% HCl, extracting it with an ethyl acetate, drying it with a magnesium sulfate, and purifying it by a column chromatography. The produced derivative(I) is useful for antipyretic analgesics.
