PURPOSE:To provide an orthogonal modulator which is small in an input level over a wide high frequency band, is capable of reducing the sneak path to the output terminal of an input signal and has a small-sized and inexpensive constitution. CONSTITUTION:This modulator is roughly composed of a multilayered substrate 1 into which 90 deg. phase shift circuit is incorporated, a modulator semiconductor integrated circuit 2 into which two circuits of two-phase modulators and an output signal common-mode synthetic circuit are incorporated and a cover 24. The multilayered substrate 1 is composed of (n) layers in all from a first layer substrate 11 to be the uppermost layer to the nth layer substrate 1n to be the lowermost layer. The first layer substrate 11 is a semiconductor integrated circuit assembling layer or the connection layer of the substrate and the semiconductor integrated circuit. The both of the wiring patterns of substrate 1m and substrate 1m+1 to be the intermediate layers of the multilayered substrate 1 compose the 90 deg. phase shift circuits by each of distribution coupling circuit whose length is almost lambdag/4. In the substrate 1n, the wiring pattern, etc., which is connected to a ground terminal is formed. |
