Pressure limiting valve with setting process for opening pressure

A pressure limiting valve for use in a hydraulic system has a movable valve poppet element (18) that is subjected to fluid pressure on one side (16) and spring pressure on the other (14). When the pressure is below the set limit, the poppet is held against a seat (30) by spring force and flow from input (34) to output (38) is blocked. The opening point of the valve is determined by set position of the sealing plug (22). This is pressed into position with force being monitored until a set pressure is rendered.
