Reactor system comprises (1) reactor for contg. reaction fluids and substrate, (2) fluid delivery system; (3) translation stage for moving a mask or the substrate between specific positions; (4) light for illuminating the substrate through a mask, and (5) digital computer to control liq. flows, movement of the stage and selective illumination of parts of the substrate. Also new are cpds. of formulae (II) and (III) n is 0 or 1; y is O or NH from the COOH or NH2 gps. of (un)natural aminoacid, or the c-5' O gp. of a natural or unnatural (deoxy)ribonucleic acid; R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, aryl, benzyl, halo, OH, alkoxy, SH, thioether, etc. R3 is alkoxy, alkyl, aryl, H or alkenyl. Y1 is as Y but not the O from COOH of aminoacid, R'3 is as R1; and R4 and R5 are H, alkoxy, alkyl, halo, aryl or alkenyl.
