PURPOSE:To stably obtain excellent magnetic characteristics by increasing a nonstoichiometric range for obtaining a single phase of a rare earth element- iron nitride permanent magnet mother alloy. CONSTITUTION:Part of Sm is substituted by Ce, Nd, etc., (A element) of rare earth elements having lower vapor pressure than that of the Sm, part of Fe is substituted by Al, Si, Mn, Ga, Ge, etc., (B element) having an action for increasing a nonstoichiometric range, a substitution rate (x) of the A element is set to 0<x<1, a substitution rate (y) of the B element is set to 0.02<=y<=0.2. A chemical composition is so set as to become, for example, (Sm0.6Ce0.42(Fe0.8 Si0.2)17+ or -z, in a range of 0<=z<=2 in a single phase. Nitriding is executed under conditions of a heating temperature range of 350-600 deg.C and a nitrogen atmosphere high pressure of 30-150atm. |
