The integrated control is used for opening and closing the flow regulator (6), so that the oxygen is supplied only during the breathing-in phase. The respiration cycle is monitored via measuring electrodes (1) for detecting the electrical voltages produced in the respiration muscles and coupled via respective cables (2) to an electronic measuring and control device (3). Pref the measuring and control device converts the electrical voltage profile provided by 3 measuring electrodes into switching pulses for operation of the flow regulator.
