PURPOSE:To obtain an antimicrobial synthetic finer excellent in resistance to washing and a textile product containing the fiber. CONSTITUTION:This synthetic fiber comprises a fixing agent which is a sulfonated formalin condensate of diphenyl sulfone having 10,000-50,000 average molecular weight and one or more antimicrobial finishing agents selected from the group of N-dimethyl-N'-phenyl(N'-fluorodichloromethylthio)-sulfamide and a quaternary ammonium salt of an alkyl phosphate anion imparted thereto. Furthermore, a textile product contains the synthetic fiber.
