The mechanism has an end piece made of two hubs (4, 5) which fit into each end of the tube (3) of the roller blind. The end piece has an attachment (20) which fits into the support (21) at the end of the housing of the roller blind. A winding mechanism (10, 11) is also attached to the end pieces. The end piece is made of moulded plastics or metal with standard inner and out diameters. It has at least two hubs (4, 5) with different sections, divided by a circular shoulder (6). The end piece has a series of grooves (7) which are usually rectangular or rounded which lie lengthwise along the end piece. They match similar grooves (8) which run along the inside of the tube (3). One of the hubs (5) has a retractable lug (9) which allows the winding mechanism to be assembled and disassembled. The inner surface (18) of the hub (4) has a series of grooves which the section (20), which has similar grooves on its outer surface, fits into. The length of the attachment (20) can be adjusted as required.
