Wireless entry of data to computer system for vehicle guidance

The data entry has a local data entry unit that is linked to the processing computer by wireless transmission. The data entry is provided by a flat high resolution screen (1). The screen is sensitive to external pressure or proximity of a finger or pen. The data can be entered in written form or by pressing keys (3) on the front face of the unit. The display can be controlled to show various symbols and characters, which can be selected by the user. A cross-type cursor control (4) on the front of the unit provides an alternative method for selecting a symbol or position on the screen.
