A burner (1) is provided, comprising a primary mixture supply conduit (2) and a primary mixture chamber (6) connected with the supply conduit (2), the primary mixture chamber (6) having primary discharge openings (7) for discharging burning mixture into the space surrounding the burner (1). The burner (1), which may be made of a ceramic material, which may be made of a ceramic material, further comprises flame stabilizing means arranged near the primary discharge openings (7).
