Disposal and recycling of data-carrying film by simple safe method

摘要

Disposal of films used as data carriers involves covering the films with a solvent in a vessel, to remove the data layer; and disposing of the films or re-using them. The process comprises (1) using (a) a mixt. (IA) of aq. NaOH soln. and ketone(s) or (b) a mixt. (IB) of dil. aq. NaOH soln. and detergent contg. surfactant as universal solvent (I) for diazo, vesicular, dry and silver films; and (2) adding (I) to the vessel with or after the film. Also claimed is the vessel used with (IA).
