<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new carbapenem compound useful as a medicine having antimicrobial action. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R<1> is carboxy; R<2> is a hydroxy (lower)alkyl; R<3> is H or a lower alkyl; R<4> is H or an imino-protecting group; R<5> is H or an imino-protecting group; R<6> is H or an amino-protecting group; R<5> and R<6> are bonded to form a group of formula II; R<7> is H or a lower alkyl) such as allyl (4R, 5S, 6S)-3-[(2R, 4S)-1-allyloxycarbonyl-2-[2-(N<1>- allyloxycarbonylamidinoethyl)pyrrolidin-4-yl]thio-6-[(1R)-1-hydroxyeth yl]-4- methyl-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3, 2, 0]hept-2-ene-carboxylate. This compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of formula IV (X is an eliminable group) in a solvent (e.g. acetone) under cooling to under heating.</p> |
