Sealing leakages in water pipelines and containers

Sealing leakages in water pipelines and containers comprises using aq. sealants based on liq. water glass, opt. contg. cellulose. Before applying the sealing fluid, the pipeline system and/or container is emptied, cleaned and dried. A sealant is used contg. an amt. of Na-silicate producing a pH of 10.5-11.5 in dilute soln. at water boiling point. The process is carried out at 30-90 deg.C.
