PURPOSE:To enhance optical recording characteristics and storage stability by forming at least one kind of an imidazole dye represented by a specific formula on a substrate as a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a heat mode optical recording medium capable of recording and reproducing data using laser beam, an imidazole dye represented by general formula wherein X is a phenyl group having at least one group selected from an alkylsulfoneamide group, an arylsulfoneamide group and a hydroxy group at an ortho-position, R1 and R3 are an alkyl group, R2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a halogen atom and Z is an aryl group having a substituent selected from a hydroxyl group, an alkylamino group and an alkoxy group at a para-position or a heterocyclic group) is formed on a substrate and at least one light stabilizer is added to the recording layer. |
