摘要 PURPOSE:In NaCl electrolysis using asbestos diaphragm, Mg compounds are added into anode chamber as a doping agent to economically, easily enhance current efficiency. CONSTITUTION:In NaCl electrolysis using electrolytic bath with asbestos diaphragm installed between anode chamber and cathod chamber, Mg compound is added to the anode chamber or feed brine. As Mg compound, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium chloride, etc. canbe used. The amount of addition for unit diaphragm area is, as Mg, 0,69 to 13.7 g/m<2>/m<3> brine, or preferably 1 to 5 g/m<2>/m<3> brine. Preferably, it should be added before the diaphragm becomes too damaged, usually after 2 to 3 mounths usage. For operational convenience, an addition at regular interval of a specific amount is preferred.
