PURPOSE:To produce a carbon-containing refractory excellent in strength, corrosion resistance, etc., by previously kneading the superfine aggregate in the aggregate of the morg. refractory material with a binder, an org, molding assistant a lubricant, etc., then kneading, forming and firing the resultant after adding the aggregate having coarse grain size. CONSTITUTION:0.5-10wt.% thermosetting resin as the binder and a carbon source as well, 0.1-5wt.% polyvinyl butyral or polyethylene glycol, etc., as a org. molding assistant and 0.1-5wt.% stearic acid or stearic acid compd. as a rubricant and a releasing agent as well, by outer percentage based on 100wt.% aggregate, are added to the aggregate having <0.5mm grain size included in 100wt.% aggregate consisting of the inorg. refractory material, and the resultant is prekneaded. Then, the aggregate having >=0.5mm grain size included in 100wt.% aggregate is added, and the resultant is kneaded, formed and fired, and the carbon-containing refractory is obtained. In this way, the particles having <0.5mm grain size are throughly coated with the binder, etc., and particles having <0.5mm grain size are bound around the particles having >=0.5mm grain size to form secondary particles, so that a lubricating effect is increased and a formability is improved. |
