A description is given of a shake unit in particular for shaking rolls of a paper machine used for guiding a wire, which consists of action and reaction units carrying out translatory movements, which are set into motion via at least one correspondingly excited electromagnet and make it possible to transmit the translatory movement directly to the object to be shaken.
