FOLDER DISPLAY AND CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a folder control method making a groupware easy to be used on a disk top by enabling the definition of a folder having a new attribute information on the disk top. CONSTITUTION:Folders and documens are stored as instances in object data bases 40, 204 and 205. A user defines a class by a class definition program 211 and can prepare the instance of the class by an instance preparation program. The instances of the folders and documents are displayed as icons on a display 3 and the icons according to the attribute values of the instances are displayed by an icon display program 29. The user changes the attribute values of the instances by using an attribute value change program 27. A program 29 is started by a folder control program 20, a display icon storage part 75 is normally checked and an operation displaying the icon according to the attribute values of the instances is repeated.
