The cathode supporting structure of an electron gun for an electron tube is formed by attaching a cathode substrate (5) to the upper of a cathode sleeve (6) composed of nickel and chromium alloy, inserting a heater (8) into the inner of the cathode sleeve (7) to form a cathode part, and fixing the lower of a strap (9) to the cathode sleeve, and the upper of the strap to the metal plate (12) attached to the insulating member (10). The first electrode (11) in the cathode structure is fixed to a bead glass of the electron gun.
