PURPOSE:To provide an acoustic signal recording method improving the perceived sound quality when audio software is listened to by a headphone. CONSTITUTION:A left right signal mixer 21 mixes left and right stereo input signals at a predetermined ratio to generate two headphone listening signals to obtain a proper stereo effect at listening by a headphone, and the headphone listening signal is coded and recorded. Then the headphone listening signal is coded by using a stereo acoustic signal coder 61 to obtain a high data compression efficiency.
