The present invention relates to an insulating sheet, which can be used in particular as wallpaper. The insulating sheet comprises layers in the sequence polyethylene (2), aluminium (3), polyethylene (4). Such a structure effectively prevents the diffusion of perchloroethylene (6) into the walls and adjoining rooms, for example from dry-cleaning installations. In addition, the sheet forms an effective barrier against PCBs (8). The polyethylene layers may in each case be covered by a paper layer (1, 5). <IMAGE>
