PURPOSE:To polish an optional portion concerning a range of a surface side edge - a side end face - a back surface side edge of a strip by arranging a frame capable of angular displacement and vertical displacement in the longitudinal direction within a vertical plane in the cross direction of the strip at a normal position. CONSTITUTION:When a frame 2 is displaced vertically and a row of a brush roll 1 is positioned at height directly facing the side end of a strip P, a pressure contact angle of the brush roll row against the side end surface of the strip P becomes 90 degrees, and the brush roll row polishes the side end surface of the strip P. The row of the brush roll 1 is constituted of a brush roll 1A and a brush roll 1B occupying both adjoining sides of the brush roll 1A and which is the same as the brush roll 1A in width including the both adjoining sides but is half as wide as the brush roll 1A on one ajoining side. These brush rolls 1A, 1B rotate respectively in the opposite directions and with the three brush rolls, working force and reaction force of movement as the whole of the brush roll row are balanced. |
