The method causes a sequence of defined input signals to be applied to electrical components with dynamic behaviour. The response signals are determined by the physical parameters influencing such an electrical component with dynamic behaviour. It is possible to use characteristic quantities of the response signal for determining physical measurement quantities. Such characteristic quantities can be, among others, time or level values. It is also possible to cover dynamic measurement quantities by a sequence of input signals with the corresponding speed. The method described thus causes the electrical components with dynamic behaviour to function as measurement pickups. The structural design of these measurement pickups then determines their field of application and the measuring range. Thus, an inductive coil can be used as position, angle or distance pickup. A system of two conductive plates can be constructed as position, angle or force pickup. The type of electrical circuit into which a measurement pickup of the above type is connected then determines the type of input or response signals. That is to say the circuit arrangement determines, for example, whether step functions are input as input signals to a measurement pickup and whether a characteristic time or a characteristic level of the response signal is evaluated.
