PURPOSE:To calculate the position of a defect in accordance with the three- dimensional curved surface of a body to be tested by detecting the position of an ultrasonic probe in a three-dimensional coordinates and detecting the swing angle of the probe. CONSTITUTION:A first rotary section 4 supports a second rotary section 3 rotatable about an axis extending perpendicularly to the central axis of the first rotary section 4. A linear telescopic arm 5 is led out passing through the intersection of the central axes of both rotary sections 4, 3 with an ultrasonic probe 1 being held rotatably by a contact holder 6 at the tip thereof. A rotational angle detector 7 and an arm length detector are fixed to the first rotary section 4, while a rotational angle detector 8 is fixed to the second rotary section 3, and a detector 10 for detecting the swing angle of the ultrasonic probe 1 with respect to the line connecting the arm 5 and the probe 1 is fixed to the probe holder 6. |
