An inside surface (3) of a drinking vessel (1) is treated with a material suitable for providing nucleation sites (5) to encourage the formation of bubbles in a liquid containing a gas such as carbon dioxide or CO2/nitrogen mixture. The material may be printed upon the internal surface.
