A closure (20) has a body (32) with a top wall (40) and an upwardly projecting discharge tube (62) defining a discharge passage (60) in communication with opening (24) of the container (22). A cap (120) defines a dispensing conduit (124) extending between an inlet aperture (126) and a dispensing aperture (128), and the cap is slidable on the body top wall between open and closed positions. A hollow fitment (90) has a first portion (91) slidably disposed on the discharge tube (62) and has a second portion (92) that projects into the cap inlet aperture (126) and that is disposed in the cap dispensing conduit (124) to accommodate sliding movement of the cap (120) relative to the fitment. The fitment (90) defines an intermediate passage (94) for communicating between the body discharge tube discharge passage (60) and the cap dispensing conduit (124).
