Clamping piece for pipe elements

A description is given of a clamping piece for pipe elements for their releasable clamping connection to any body by means of a clamping screw which radially expands the interengaging wedge pieces which bear on the inner circumference of the pipe element which is to be connected, there being provided at least two interengaging, mutually symmetrical wedges, which have a shortened flat wedge head, the wedges being offset with respect to one another in the pipe which is to be clamped, such that the end surface of the wedge is seated on the outer circumference of the body and forms a wedge opening by way of which helical borders are defined, and the end surface of the wedge is seated on the head of the clamping screw and forms a wedge protrusion by way of which helical borders are defined, with the result that, for expansion purposes, the wedge opening of the wedge engages into the identical wedge protrusion of the wedge.
