PURPOSE: To obtain a dental cement compsn. having superior adhesiveness to a tooth without etching the dentine and enamel with an acid and useful as a liner, a base and a correcting material as well as cement for joining. CONSTITUTION: This dental cement compsn. contains a cation source such as a Ca, Al or Sr ion source and a polymerizable monomeric compd. represented by formula I [X is O, S, SO, SO2 , NR9 , PR10 , PR13 , P(O)R11 , P(O)OR12 , a group represented by formula II or III or CR3 R4 , each of R1 and R2 is a 2-13C polymerizable unsatd. molecular part, each of R3 -R6 is H, halogen or 1-10C (halo)alkyl, each of R9 -R14 is H, 1-10C alkyl or 6-10C aryl, each of Z1 and Z2 is an acid group or a molecular part contg. a reactive acid deriv., each of (a), (m) and (n) is 0 or 1 and each of (b) and (p) is 1-10]. The compd. represented by the formula I is polymerized by addition polymn. through each ethylenically unsatd. group, and in order to accelerate or regulate the polymn., a curing agent, a catalyst and an initiator and/or an accelerator are used. |
