A shelf support has two or more of the tracks (27) which are fastened to a suitable structure, such as a wall, so as to be upright and parallel, by screws through holes (31) in the back wall (27). At least one bracket (10) is provided for attachment to each track, each bracket having a specially shaped lug (24) on the rear face thereof, each lug having a locating peg (26). Each bracket (10) is attached to its track (27) by turning the bracket (10) until the center line of its web (14) is substantially horizontal. The head (24) is passed through the gap between the flanges (30) and the bracket is then rotated through 90 degrees so that the lugs (25) become trapped behind the flanges (30). Vertical locations of the bracket (10) to the track (27) is provided by a series of equally-spaced depressions or holes (32) formed in the back wall (28). The depressions (32) may be joined by a groove (33). The depressions (32) are dimensioned to receive the peg (26) on the bracket (10). Until the peg (26) is entered into one of the depressions (32), the lugs (25) will lie between the flanges (30), so as to inhibit rotation of the bracket (10) to the upright position, thereby inhibiting incorrect assembly of the bracket (10) to the upright member (27). The minimum spacing between the support face and the shelf locating member is adapted to receive and retain the rear edge of a shelf. The end of the support face (16a) remote from the jaws is substantially rigid, whilst a resilient member (19a) is positioned in a groove (19) on the support face close to but outside the mouth of the jaws (18a). |
