The military weapon has a housing (10) in which an automatically erecting warhead (12) is accommodated. The housing (10) consists of a container (14), which is open at the top, and of a cover (32) which rests on the container opening (22). The housing (10) is placed on the ground (46) in open terrain, and the warhead (12) is located horizontally in the container (14) and is in its standby position when the cover (32) is lying on the opening (22). When an enemy is sensed, the warhead (12) is automatically erected by being pivoted, by a drive element (44), about a pivoting shaft (42) which is arranged within the container (14).
