Apparatus for the application of deicing material to road surfaces which is typically mounted in place of the tailgate on a pickup truck equipped with an articulating dump box. The apparatus is powered by a gas motor with means for maintaining a level orientation as the dump box is inclined. The apparatus is provided with means for driving an auger and a spinner at different relative speeds and at an angle of 90 deg. to each other.
