Method for the disposal of residual and waste materials

A method for treating residual and waste materials of any type is described, in which said materials are fused or placed into a melting bath and said melt, in an atomising apparatus, is atomised with an atomising medium and is cooled. The atomising medium used is preferably an oxidant which immediately and completely oxidises the pollutants in the melt during the atomisation process, the regeneration of organic pollutants being prevented by the shock-like cooling of the melt, and the melt adopting the glassy state. By setting the parameters of the atomising apparatus it is possible to modify systematically the shape as well as the morphological and topological nature of the material produced.
