In a motor-vehicle door stop, with a door-holding rod which consists of a metal core encased in a plastic material and which at one end is articulated by means of a bearing block on a door-arrangement part, door or door column so as to be pivotable about an axis parallel to the door-hinge axis, and with braking bodies supported in a holder housing so as to be movable relative to the door-holding rod counter to a spring load, in order to reduce the outlay in terms of production, on the one hand, and in order to avoid variations in the door-holding points and the occurrence of creaking noises in the door stop, on the other hand, provision is made for the metal core to consist of a blank of flat material and for the bulged-out portions of the door-holding rod forming the braking ramps and catch depressions to be formed by corresponding local thickenings of a plastic casing equipped with inserted Keflar, and for the bearing lug serving for its articulation on the one door-arrangement part to be extended parallel to the axis of articulation by an at least one-sided shaped-out portion of the blank of flat material. <IMAGE>
