INTAKE/EXHAUST STRUCTURE FOR V-ENGINE

摘要

PURPOSE:To downsize a V-engine by forming exhaust ports toward the inside of banks into a V shape, arranging an exhaust passage under the banks, and connecting the exhaust passage to an exhaust pipe under the engine. CONSTITUTION:An engine 10 comprises cylinder blocks 36, etc., for forming a pair of right and left banks 42A, 42B arranged opposite to each other into a V shape. In the respective banks 42A, 42B a lot of cylinders are arranged along the axial line of a crankshaft 45 in the inside of a crank case 44. In this case exhaust ports 56 are formed toward inside of respective banks 42A, 42B. An exhaust passage 74 for communicating with the exhaust ports 56 is formed under the respective banks 42A, 42B. And the exhaust passage 74 is connected to an exhaust pipe arranged under the engine 10. On the other hand, an intake port 54 and an intake passages 82 communicated thereto are arranged on the outsides of the respective banks 42A, 42B.
