Casting installation and process for diecasting ceramic articles

On a turntable (10), which can be rotationally driven step by step about a central axis of rotation (A), there are mounted a plurality of first casting holders (16), for a first casting (22) each, offset with respect to one another in the circumferential direction and such that they can swivel about a tangential swivel axis (B) each. Arranged in corresponding number on the turntable (10) are second casting holders (18), for a second casting (24) each, which are movable in the direction towards and away from a respective associated first casting holder (16) in order to clamp the associated castings (22, 24) together or separate them from each other. Next to the turntable (10) there is a demoulding station (30), with a swivel drive (90) for respectively swivelling a pair of casting holders (16, 18) back and forth between a casting position and a demoulding position. Arranged on the casting holders (16, 18) are clamping elements (42, 44), which can swivel together with the said holders about the swivel axis (B) and are able to be interlocked and unlocked in pairs by outside actuation. Drives (60, 70, 80) for actuating the clamping elements (42, 44) and for respectively moving apart and together a pair of casting holders (16, 18), swivelled into the demoulding position, are arranged exclusively in the demoulding station (30). <IMAGE>
