PURPOSE:To provide a material using coir to a great extent, having cushioning, vibration-proofing, electromagnetic shielding effects, to be used for construction, interior decoration, packing, etc. CONSTITUTION:The material consisting of a laminate (A) based on a mat layer where coir and metallic multifilaments are entwined together (B) with an adherend layer comprising other material(s). This material can give the following advantages: (1) reinforcement with rigidity; (2) mass addition; (3) electric conductivity; (4) cushioning properties; (5) vibration-proofness; (6) sound-proofness; (7) electromagnetic wave shielding properties. Therefore, this material has, for example, the following applications: (a) by laminating the mat layer with corrugated board(s), packing materials can be obtained, having adequate mechanical strength, cushioning properties, electromagnetic wave shielding properties etc.; and (b) by laminating the mat layer with woodboard(s), construction materials can be obtained, having cushioning properties, sound-proofness, thermal insulation and electromagnetic wave shielding properties. |
