The invention relates to a fitting for blocking off supply lines connected to house service connections and pressurised with gases, and device for controlling the fitting (1) which has a housing (2), two connection pieces (3) arranged on the latter, and a tripping mechanism (4). Provided in the housing (2) is a ring (6) having a valve-sealing seat and through which a rod (8) projects concentrically. Provided at one end of the rod (8) is a valve-closing cone (9) and at the other end a sleeve (10) with frontal passages (11). A compression spring (12) is clamped between the ring (6) and the sleeve (10). In order to provide a fitting (1) and a device for controlling the fitting (1) which makes it possible to close the supply line in the event of danger and which can be opened again after the closing, the tripping mechanism (4) is actuable by a solenoid valve (14), and a re-clamping device (16) is arranged in the housing (2) of the fitting (1). <IMAGE>
