PURPOSE:To easily and quickly lock and unlock a steering wheel without depending on key operations and to surely prevent misoperations. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle steering wheel locking mechanism is provided with a casing 30 in which a locking member 32 movable from a locking position to an unlocking position and vice versa, a rotating member 34 which allows the locking member 32 to move freely from the locking position to the unlocking position and vice versa, and a drive means 33 for allowing the rotating member 34 to freely rotate stepwise to a first position for stopping rotation of the steering wheel, a second position for enabling rotation of the steering wheel and for disabling engine operation, and a third position for enabling rotation of the steering wheel and for permitting engine operation are provided. |
