PURPOSE:To indicate a traveling path on a display accurately by calculating the distance between an intersection on a scheduled traveling path nearest to the vehicle and the vehicle and the traveling distance along the scheduled traveling path from the intersection to a destination. CONSTITUTION:The position data of the closest intersection is read from the intersection data stored in a RAM 26 and a straight-line distance A between a vehicle and the closest intersection is calculated according to the above position data and the position data indicating the present location of the vehicle. Then, a distance 13 along the scheduled traveling path from the closest intersection which is retrieved using the intersection data stored in the RAM 26 to a destination is calculated. When the straight-line distance A between the vehicle and the closest intersection and a distance B from the closest intersection to the destination are calculated, the distances B are added to calculate a traveling distance C of the vehicle. Then, the calculated traveling distance C (for example, 10km) is displayed on the specific display area of a display 14. |
