An extruded element, in particular a hollow-cylindrical pipe or sleeve, of plastic as a support for strip materials or information media in tape form, having a core of a thermoplastic, determining the stiffness of the element, and a sheath of a thermoplastic elastomer, surrounding the said core, preferably applied with a form fit on to it, and determining the surface properties.
