The present invention relates to a fuse link having a hollow insulating body which is open on opposite sides, two covering plates which each hold a contact blade, cover opposite openings of the insulating body and are fastened thereto, in each case one seal which is arranged between in each case one covering plate and the insulating body, the seal having an essentially central opening, and having a fuse conductor which connects the opposite contact blades, as well as having a sand filling which surrounds the fuse conductor and essentially fills the cavity in the insulating body. The present invention likewise relates to a method for producing a fuse link and a seal as means for it. In order to create a fuse link of the type mentioned initially, a seal which is designed in an expedient manner for it, and a method for production of such a fuse link, by means of which, overall, a simpler and quicker capability is provided for production with a low level of manual work and a very uniform and complete sand filling level without any damage to the fuse conductor, it is proposed according to the invention that the seal (5) be bonded onto the edge (11) of the opening (4) in the insulating body (1) on at least one side of said insulating body (1), and that the central opening (7) in this seal (5) be at least partially matched to the contour of the contact blade (3)...
